With three nights to go on the season, the front row was the spot to be at Deming Speedway as all five winners on Speedmart Hoosier / Brent Rents night went wire to wire for their wins. Chance Crum, Tyson Cross, Colton Heath, Dakota Drake and Levi Hillier were the winners on the evening.
In the Speedmart Hoosier 600 open class, chaos kept the race from getting a long green flag run until the 9th and final yellow flag flew on lap 17. Chance Crum led every lap up until that point and led every lap to follow as he scored the win, his 15th total between 600s, Midgets, 1200 and Sprint Cars on the season. Tanner Holm triumphed in a spirited battle for second as Kyle Mitchell took third.
Tyson Cross was the man in the 1200 division. Using the inside pole position, Cross took the lead coming out of turn two then immediately went to the cushion and ripped off 25 near perfect laps to score the win. Chance Crum took second with Jared Gundersen racing to third.
The final appearance for the season of the Northwest Focus Midget Series saw Colton Heath hit victory lane for the third time in 2017. Heath led every lap from his outside pole position. An entertaining late race affair for second ended with Jonathan Jorgenson in the runner up position and Ryan Cully taking home third.
Dakota Drake was dominant in returning to victory lane in the Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted division. Drake went wire to wire for the win, only losing her sizable advantage as she dealt with slower traffic in the final five laps of the main. Colin Mackey closed the distance over the final five circuits but couldn’t get within five car lengths as he took second. Peyton Hagen ran third.
Levi Hillier had a brilliant drive for the feature win in the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprints. He led all twenty laps unchallenged, enjoying a near half track margin of victory as he crossed under the checkered flag. Jesson Jacobson was at the front of a big pack of cars who raced for second with Austin Held following him closely for third.
