Everson, WA – Despite a brief shower from Mother Nature, it ended up being a fast night at Deming Speedway, with great on track action that finished up just after 830 pm. Winners on the night were Jayden Whitney, Dakota Drake, Corbin Ramsey and McKenna Morgan.
The finish of the night came in the Speedmart 600 Open class. Jayden Whitney had enjoyed a comfortable lead all race long when a lapped car drove through the infield and blended back on to the track in front of Jayden. Checking up for a second, Whitney saw his advantage over Tristin Thomas and the pack trailing him shrink to next to nothing. Thomas was hard on the hammer trying to take advantage of the situation, and coming to the white flag, Whitney had yet to clear the slower car heading into the final corner. Jayden chose the low side of the track, which ended up as the right decision, as Thomas and the slower made hard contact coming off turn four, ensuring the Whitney victory and mass chaos on the front straightaway to follow. Once the wreckage was sorted, it was determined that Blaine Granberg took second with Tyler Conley grabbing third. Granberg also won a heat on the night, as did Levi Kuntz.
Dakota Drake appeared to have a comfortable lead and the race well in hand when, similar to the 600 Open main, a lapped car made the final few laps interesting in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 feature. With the laped car running the same line she was in, Dakota ducked to the low side of the track and lost some speed, allowing her uncle Brock Lemley to close within a car length of her. With only a few short laps left, Dakota stayed committed to the low side, and while Brock closed, he could never find the right way by, giving Drake the win. Brock would settle for second while Jared Gundersen ran third. Heat winners were Drake and Tyson Cross.
Good clean racing was the story of the Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted main event, as Corbin Ramsey and Levi Hillier ran nose to tail for nearly every lap of the 25 lap A Main. Ramsey would end up leading all 25 laps of the main for the victory ahead of Hillier, with the pair racing each other clean, without incident the whole way. Hillier would take home a strong second place finish with Mallory Fisher charging her way to third. Hillier and Ryan Bright got the heat race wins.
McKenna Morgan is starting to string winning weeks together, as she won again in the Clean Crawls JR Sprint division. McKenna led all 20 laps of the main with little challenge. Behind her, Jayce Medcalf, Cooper Anderson and Chase Whitney had a highly entertaining battle for second and third place, with Anderson eventually claiming the runner up spot and Whitney snaring third. Medcalf and Whitney won the heat races.
