Everson, WA – 122 cars signed in to race on Texmo Buildings & Brent Rents Night at Deming Speedway as four of the five divisions in action were turning up for next week’s Clay Cup Nationals. The winners of the Prelude to Clay Cup Main Events were Jared Peterson in two classes, Kyle Mitchell, Colton Knapp and Owen Hill. 

After Jesse Schlotfeldt led the first two laps of the Speedmart 600 main event, it was Corbin Ramsey jumping into the top spot with Levi Hillier advancing to second. The pair ran tight for nearly the entire race before Levi encountered problems and slowed, bringing out a yellow flag with 18 laps complete. On the ensuing restart, Jared Peterson, who had advanced up to third place from his original 12th place starting spot, used the outside lane of the racetrack to take both second place and the lead in one shot and would roll on to score the win. Ramsey nabbed a career best second place with Spencer Constance taking third. Heat wins went to Constance, Carson Guffie, Cody Key and Macie Logsdon. 

In the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 main, Kyle Mitchell drove the Brock Lemley owned car to victory, a first for Mitchell in the division. Things got tight in the late going as Nate Vaughn did a brilliant job of closing on Mitchell in traffic, but Kyle picked the right lanes to cut through slower cars in taking the win. Vaughn took second with Jacob Buckenmeyer running third. Alex Lewis, Peyton Drake and Jaden Thomas won the heats. 

A long patient drive by Jared Peterson paid off with a win in the NW Focus Midgets. After taking second place early, Peterson experimented with multiple race lines before using the low groove to pass Jeff Westergard on lap 17 on his way to victory lane. Nick Evans would scoot by Westergard a few laps later to take second place, with Jeff ending up in third. Heat race winners were Peterson and Evans. 

Colton Knapp was the winner in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted class, leading every lap of the main event. Jailynn Serrano was close to him in traffic but never found a gap to make a move and would settle for second. Austin Held was third. Wins in the heats went to Dustin Ramsey, Chloe Danielson, Knapp and McKenna Morgan. 

It was a dominant performance by Owen Hill as he led every lap of the Capstone Plastering JR Sprint Main without a car being around him for the majority of the contest. Hudson Johnson and Kole Campbell rounded out the podium. Heat race winners were Delilah Stermer, Kayson Sargent, Hayden Cook and Campbell.
