The 2025 lid lifter at Deming Speedway is in the books and after a spirited night of competition, Colin Mackey, Derek Holmwood, Colton Knapp and Lucas Fisher walked away with main event wins. 88 cars were on hand and racing was sponsored by Stremler Gravel and Sierra PAcific Industries.

The Speedmart 600 win went to Colin Mackey, who inherited the lead on lap 13 after race leader Jared Peterson made contact with a slower car, sending him into a tumble that ended his night. Mackey would sprint away from the field for the win, followed by Spencer Constance and Corbin Ramsey.

Derek Holmwood kept it high, wide and handsome in leading all 25 laps of the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 main. Derek rode the high side for most of the main, ducking low only a few times to blow past lapped traffic as he collected win number one on the year, followed by Seth Hespe and Jacob Buckenmeyer.

Colton Knapp has been running in Arizona in lead up to the Deming Speedway season starting, collecting six wins down in the desert before returning home to take win number seven on the year in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted class. Knapp was in control for all 25 laps in taking the win ahead of Chase Jensen and McKenna Morgan.

Lucas Fisher ran strong and confident all night in the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints as he powered to his first victory of the year. Lucas led every lap, almost losing the lead to eventual runner up Kayson Sargent in traffic before a yellow flag reset the field around the halfway mark. At the end, it was Fisher followed by Sargent and Savanna Hillier on the podium.
