Familiar Winners at Deming Speedway Again

Everson, WA – It seems like nearly every week, a multiple time, repeat winner finds victory lane at Deming Speedway. This week was no exception, with double digit winners Jared Peterson and Levi Hillier both winning again on Bob Hillier Trucking / Phillips 66 night. Derek Holmwood and Jesson Jacobson both made late race passes to win their divisions. 

For the 11th time on the year, Peterson stood triumphant in the Speedmart 600 Open division. Peterson led all 25 lap from the pole position, turning away a late challenge from Kyle Johnson to win the race. Johnson was second with Spencer Constance running a season best third. Kaden Holm, Colin Mackey and Peterson won the three heat races. 

Attrition was a gigantic factor in the field for the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 division. Starting the night with 15 competitors for the final non wing night of the year, only six finished the rough main event. Derek Holmwood ended up taking the win, sliding up past Nate Vaughn on 21 to grab his first win of the season. Vaughn and Jared Gundersen rounded out the podium. Holmwood and Gundersen won the heats. 

Lapped traffic played a huge role in the outcome of the Mytrafficman.NET 600 restricted main. Levi Klatt had held the lead since the drop of the green flag, but slower cars moving around in front of him all over the place, one wrong move would seal his doom. That move came on lap 17 when he left the low groove open for Jesson Jacobson, who jumped at the opportunity to scoot underneath Levi and into the lead. Faced with the same slower traffic, Jacobson chose right over the final eight laps to grab his second win of the year, with Blaine Granberg and Brody Ferguson following him to the podium. Ferguson won a heat race along with Keira Zylstra and Mitchell Helsel. 

Win number ten came for Levi Hillier in the Clean Crawls Junior Sprints. Kane Van Sickle led the first seventeen laps, but a mistake on lap 18 let Hillier blast to his inside and take the lead and eventual win. Van Sickle would settle for second and Levi Kuntz made a late race pass for third. Kuntz and McKenna Morgan won the heat races.
