Everson, WA – For the first time in his young career, Jayden Whitney stood tall in victory lane after a win in the Speedmart 600 Open division. Joining Jayden as a winner on the night were Derek Holmwood, Nick Evans, Carson Guffie and Clayton Jalakas.
Whintey started on the pole of the A Main and was under fire the whole way, with Jesse Schlotfeldt hard on his tail early before Jared Peterson picked his way into second just beyond the halfway point of the feature. Over the final few laps, Peterson rolled both high and low looking for a path around Whitney, but Jayden showed massive poise for a young man as he drove to the win, with Peterson and Schlotfeldt rounding out the podium. The three heat winners were Spencer Constance, Dakota Drake and Blaine Granberg.
Derek Holmwood drove to win number nine on the season in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 division, leading all twenty five laps of the main without challenge. Dustin O’Brien and Dakota Drake fought for second all race long, with O’Brien taking the spot at the end. Drake would take third and a heat race win as well. Terry Lewis won heat 2.
Nick Evans sealed his 2021 Deming Speedway championship for the NW Focus Midgets with a win on Friday night. Evans drove from sixth to take the lead on lap 11 in what ended up as his fourteenth win in the series on the season. Jesse Munn finished a career best second ahead of Jared Peterson in third. Heat wins went to Shane Smith and Levi Harless.
For the second time in three weeks, Carson Guffie turned in a dominant effort in taking a win in the Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted division. Gueffie led all twenty five laps with a lead eclipsing six seconds at one point before a late race caution snugged the field up. Rylee Kentch raced to a career best second place finish ahead of Corbin Ramsey. Axel Oudman, Zoey Tupper and Kentch won the heats.
Clayton Jalakas ran to win number two in the Clean Crawls Junior Sprints. Jalakas led the whole way, with cars never pressuring him as he found victory lane. Chase Whitney battled hard for a second place finish, the best of his career while McKenna Morgan drove to third. Jayce Medcalf and Brooklyn Constance won the heat races.
