Everson, WA – The final race before the 2021 Clay Cup Nationals at Deming Speedway is in the books, and the locals are primed to defend their home turf following an exciting night of racing. Feature winners on the night included Colin Mackey, Tyson Lemley, Jared Peterson, Destry Miller and McKenna Morgan.

Slidejobs were flying left and right over the back half of the Speedmart 600 Open main event. Jesse Schlotfeldt led the early portion of the main before mechanical trouble knocked him out, handing the lead to Tanner Holm on lap 11. Holm and Colin Mackey would trade bomb after bomb in the laps to follow, with Mackey getting the lead on lap 22 en route to his first feature win of the season. Holm encounter trouble with a slower car late, knocking him out of the field and moving Jared Peterson and Ryley Mayer in podium finishes. Heat wins went to Jeremy Holz, Derek Torkelson, Parker Hadlock and Tyler Conley while Haley Constance won the B Feature.

Tyson Lemley won round two of the Father / Son battle in the Lemley family in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 class. After keeping father Brock at bay for his first win of the year just a short time back, Tyson did it again, leading all 25 laps of the main with Dad sniffing his rear bumper nearly the whole way around. Brock would again settle for runner up while Jared Gundersen ran third. Heat winners were Seth Hespe and Terry Lewis.

It was a family affair out front of the NW Focus Midget main event, at least in the early stages. Jesse and Jake Munn traded the lead back and forth over the first five laps of the main, running side by side with the tiniest of margins separating them. On lap six, Jared Peterson somehow found the narrowest of lines around the high groove to sneak past both with what would be the race winning pass. Peterson would roll on to lead the rest of the way with ease, while Levi Harless battled his way to second and Nick Evans ended up third. Harless was quick time.

Destry Miller made his latest main event win look easy in the Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted class. Miller would lead all 25 laps with no challenge, as a furious battle raged behind him for second. Peyton Drake and Axel Oudman went tooth and nail for the runner up spot, with Drake getting the better of Oudman at the final flag. Cejay Adkins, Levi Hillier, Mallory Fisher and Karma Fagerlie won the heat races while Kane Van Sickle topped the B Main.

McKenna Morgan scored another win in the Clean Crawls JR Sprints, giving her momentum heading into next week’s Clay Cup Nationals. Morgan led every lap of the main event, with Brooklyn Constance coming from the back of the field to finish second and Chase Whitney scoring both his first career podium appearance in third and first Deming Speedway heat race win on the night. Clayton Jalakas won the first heat race of the night.
