Margeson Spoils Drake’s Big Night at Deming Speedway

Everson, WA – Week two of racing at Deming Speedway on Dirtovaltv.com saw Dakota Drake win her first Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 A Main and have a shot at the Speedmart 600 Open win only to have it spoiled by Evan Margeson. Nick Evans, Jesson Jacobson and Kane Van Sickle were the other feature winners.

First, the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 feature – Drake would lead all 25 laps of the feature, accumulating a huge advantage before traffic halted her momentum and allowed Seth Hespe to close right on her rear bumper. The slower traffic finally broke, and Drake kept the advantage over Seth while working past those cars to collect her first victory in the division. Hespe was second and Terry Lewis was third.

Drake also had the pole in the Speedmart 600 Open division and led the first five laps of that feature. On lap six, Evan Margeson took over the top spot for good – having convinced Dakota he was looking low, Drake moved low to block in turn three, allowing Evan to slingshot around the outside of her in turn four and into the lead. It was all Margeson the rest of the way, holding a solid lead to the checkered flag. Jordi Meese passed Drake on the last lap to grab second.

Nick Evans came from fifth to win the NW Focus Midget main event. Jesse Conway grabbed the lead and was holding off Evans before jumping the cushion entering turn three on lap seventeen, giving Evans the space he needed to drive underneath and take the lead. Evans would go the rest of the way for the victory, followed by Chance Crum and Conway.

It was a barn burner of a main event in the Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted class. Peyton Drake held the lead for the first seven laps before Jesson Jacobson swung past Drake to take the lead on lap eight. While Jacobson would go most of the rest of the way unencumbered for the win, the race for second was raging as Drake, Jayden Whitney, Haley Constance and Levi Hillier went toe to toe for the rest of the way to determine the podium, Whitney ended up scoring second, with Drake running third.

Kane Van Sickle scored his second win of the season in the Clean Crawls Jr Sprints. Kane raced underneath Drake Hadlock on lap 13 to grab the top spot and the win. Hadlock ran second with McKenna Morgan snagging third for the second straight week,
