Everson, WA – On a sunny Sunday afternoon, Deming Speedway rounded out its 2024 season by crowning four champions across its divisions. 

The only race tight enough to be undecided coming into Championship Sunday was in the Speedmart 600 division. Two points separated defending champion and current point leader Levi Hillier from his rival Colin Mackey. After Hillier won the scramble, it was Mackey jetting to the lead over Levi on the opening green. A Mackey win would give him the title and it looked likely to happen after he led the first 22 laps with only token pressure applied by Hillier. For Colin, disaster struck as he entered turn one of the 23rd lap, when his muffler came unattached and spit away from his car, ending his race. This gave the lead to Hillier, who completed a dream season including multiple main event wins, a Clay Cup win, Sprint Car wins and now, his second straight season championship at Deming Speedway after streaking away from the field to win the feature. Jared Peterson ran from 9th to take second with Macie Logsdon finishing third. Peterson and Austin Held won the heat races. 

Derek Holmwood started his season championship celebration by leading every lap of the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 main event to take the win on the final night of the year. Holmwood held off Jacob Buckenmeyer late to secure the win, interrupting Jacob’s multi week winning streak. Alex Lewis ran third. Holmwood won the scramble while Seth Hespe won the heat race. 

The Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted season ended with quite the shootout in front of the field. Dustin Ramsey had the championship wrapped up coming into the night and led the first 13 laps of the 30 lap main event before Sawyer Baxter shot around him to take the lead. Just like Baxter had been in close proximity to Ramsey all race before making the pass, Ramsey returned the favor, dogging Sawyer closely for the remainder of the race. Sawyer would turn Ramsey away over and over again to finish the year with a win, with Dustin taking second and Clayton Jalakas taking third. Chloe Danielson, Jayce Medcalf and McKenna Morgan won the heat races and Ramsey won the scramble. 

Hudson Johnson’s dominant 2024 year ended up with 11 wins, a Clay Cup title and a season point championship in the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints but his celebration on the final night of the year was spoiled by Owen Hill. Johnson led the first 12 laps of the main event before Hill found his way by him on lap 13 and rolled the rest of the way for the victory. Johnson would take second along with his season championship and Madi Hoppe ended his year in third. Johnson also won the scramble. Autumn Little and Kellen Vonthenen were the heat race winners.
